Summer Street Style Roundup
Sep 02, 2018

This summer made history as one of the world’s hottest - and we aren’t just talking about the weather. The sunny season always brings out fresh styles, and we’ve rounded up 10 of our favourite summer looks here. Keep an eye on these trendsetters to inspire your next FlauntBox look!

1. Dorian Rahimzadeh @dorian.who

A casual walk through Vancouver Chinatown never looked better! Our first bright summer look comes from creative director, designer, and stylist Dorian Rahimzadeh. Like this eye-catching look, Dorian’s style features vibrant and unapologetically bold colours, and never fails to impress. This style will definitely make you want to add a pop of bright colour to your wardrobe. Here, she sports popping pink culottes and a breezy camisole: her tinted shades bring a sense of cohesiveness to this look, making it a surreal masterpiece.

2. Tomo @imtomo.m

We absolutely adore this look by Tomo, a Japanese-Vancouverite who specializes in marketing, UI, and UX design. With athleisure becoming a major trend in the fashion industry right now, we are inspired by this perfect mixture of sporty and chic. Tomo pairs a classic crop top with a sporty striped down skirt, slitted to add a feminine touch, and anchored by a sleek Frontrvnners jacket and white sneakers. We’d walk down any street, any day in this outfit!

3. Flora Law @thefloralaw

Nothing says classic quite like Chanel! This sweet, versatile look by blogger Flora Law is perfect for any occasion, and will make you want to trade your little black dress for white. Flora’s summery dress and tote are perfect for a day out in the city, and all you need to do is add a blazer for a more professional aesthetic. And of course, to personalize this look, a cute ring or two never hurts.

4. Malika @malikawears

Malika is a fashion blogger with a powerful message: “I started paying attention to how I dressed after I started wearing [a] hijab, because for the first time, I was more noticeable in a crowd. I started posting [these] styles because I wanted to show other girls how easy it was to stay covered and still have fun with fashion.” Malika’s style definitely makes a powerful impression too: she stuns here in sleek, head-to-toe black. A splash of white on the statement top adds a unique touch to this beautiful look. We can’t wait to see what Malika wears next!

5. Haley Estrada @haleyestradaa

Summer is all about relaxing, and that’s exactly how Haley Estrada’s Instagram feed makes us feel. This blogger knows how to chill, with a breezy style that must be the recipe for ultimate zen. This light and airy look features adorable bow-tied pants, paired with a white off-the-shoulder shirt with gloriously ruffled sleeves. Put simply, this is a spa retreat for the wardrobe.

6. Marina @the.stylehaus

This timeless look by Toronto fashion blogger Marina is perfect for any weather situation. Marina is the queen of practical style, with her blog featuring “a mix of affordable pieces and select high end investment pieces”. While the white lace top exclaims summer, a trench over the shoulders is a necessity when the occasional wind rolls in. Layering is definitely a must, especially here in Canada! Marina’s buttoned, ankle-length skirt adds a finishing touch of classic and feminine.

7. Alyssa Black @capricebianca

Fashion stylist Alyssa Black knows how to do downtown chic. Here, she’s given this cute army green matching set a makeover with some major accessories. We are inspired by her philosophy: “no such thing as being over accessorized”! Her bold and gold jewellery is the perfect way to show confidence through personalization, and a pair of shades mark this as a true summer look. A warm, cheerful scarf ties it all together as the statement piece.

8. Sandy @chic_stylings

Next on our list is Sandy, a woman of many talents: not only is she a fashion blogger, influencer, and stylist, but she is also a wife, mother, and works in the corporate world. “I love sharing my fashion and lifestyle inspirations as it relates to all these areas in my life. I especially love supporting local, and one of my favourite boutiques in Calgary is Bamboo Ballroom YYC, where I got these adorable pleated pants.” Sandy rocks summery culottes in this look, adding a peachy tone to the breezy bottoms that have stolen our hearts this season. She praises them for their versatility: “Just throw on a simple cami or tee, dress up with heels or down with sneakers, and you are instantly ready to rock a stylish statement outfit!” We could not agree more!

9. Sharadha @sweetshardxo

This practical outfit is a staple of comfort, and perfect for letting out your inner child. “Never let ‘em tell you that you’re too old for overalls,” proclaims Sharadha, a self-taught sewist. Using fabrics she almost never buys at regular price, she crafted this pair of overalls herself, with her makes inspired by her available fabric selection. “I had my eye on this pattern for about a year beforehand. I got excited at how well the overalls turned out and serged the entire garment before trying it on. I had to pick apart all of the serging to resize it: big lesson learned!” We love how the end result turned out!

10. Zaheera Mohammed @zahee22

Summertime is not the time to be shy, and Zaheera is a mom who knows how to flaunt it: “I got started as a fashion blogger because I always had an interest in fashion, [and] I knew I wanted to start a blog that showcases moms [who are] on the run but still have time to look great.” Zaheera reviews and models for several fashion companies, and also hosts events in Greater Toronto, such as FallFashionForward and FashionMoms. Marked by her modest, chic style, this look features a bright summer palette that feels like a garden, with gold sandals to add a touch of eminence.
